On April 14th the Norwegian government will announce if it is possible to reduce some of the current restrictions connected to the covid-19 pandemic in Norway or if the process of re-opening the country is delayed. We are planning to present if and how the Midnight Sun Marathon will be arranged latest at the end of April. Especially for international participants the situation is difficult due to strict travel restrictions. We recommend therefore all international participants that travel from other countries to Norway to wait with booking flights/ accommodation until the end of April or alternatively have a good cancellation policy in case the situation demands that.
The date for this years race will be Saturday, June 19th, 2021. We look forward to welcome runners from all over the World to Tromsø to run in the Arctic and the land of the Midnight Sun. Our courses are controlled and certified by Hugh Jones in AIMS “Association of International Marathon and Distance Races”. Approximately 6000 runners take on the streets of Tromsø every year. No matter level and age, there is a distance for you during MSM. You can choose between: Marathon, Mizuno Half Marathon, Coop Mila (10k), MSM Mini Marathon (4,2k) and Kids marathon (800m).
The Midnight Sun Marathon on 19th of June will be organized with regard to official governmental regulations and protection control measurements. This can lead to changes of start times and racecourses. Please also inform yourself about current regulations for travelling for your country and Norway before you sign up for the race. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions via info@msm.no.
“Intriguing, unique and breathtaking: the Midnight Sun Marathon is an unforgettable Arctic experience”.
