MSM and SVL-N (Saami Athletics Union – Norway) are the organisers of the Norwegian reindeer racing championships in the main street of Tromsø! Reindeer racing is a small, but rapidly growing sport among the Saami people. The racers stand on skis behind their specially trained raindeer on a 201 meters long track. The competitions is organised like a cup, starting with qualifying heats leading up to a grand final where the Norwegian championship title is finally decided.
